It is this Monday that the trial of Derek Chauvin begins.

Derek Chauvin, it is this white policeman who last May 25 had killed the African-American George Floyd by leaving his knee on his neck for more than 8 minutes.

The scene, entirely filmed, had a considerable impact in the United States and around the world.

It had caused riots across the country and in particular in Minneapolis.

The event had weighed heavily on the US presidential campaign.

This shows whether this trial and the resulting verdict are both expected and feared.

Chauvin trial, can race relations change in the United States?

This is the question of the day.
