One week after one year of the first state of alarm decreed by the

in
Spain
, some autonomous communities lower their internal mobility restrictions, while waiting with the utmost prudence for the weekend's incidence data after detecting a slowdown in the rhythm of the decline in

New Research Finds British Variation Will Cause "Big Outbreaks" of Coronavirus
A study published in the journal Science has warned that the British variant of the
coronavirus
, B.1.1.7, can cause large outbreaks if restrictions are not maintained.
In fact, it could lead to more deaths this year than in 2020 in the UK.
"Without strict control measures, including the limited closure of educational institutions and very accelerated vaccine implementation, hospitalizations and deaths from
Covid-19
in England in 2021 will exceed those of 2020," say the authors of the study published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science
The researchers analyzed 150,000 sequenced coronavirus samples from across the UK and found that the relative growth rate of the variant in the first 31 days after its initial observation was higher than that of the other 307
coronavirus
variant lineages
.
To understand the possible biological mechanisms for this, the authors used an age-structured and regional mathematical model of
SARS-CoV-2
transmission
to test various assumptions, including that the strain has a higher viral load or a period of longer removal.
They estimate that the new variant has a breeding number 43-90% higher than pre
-
existing
SARS-CoV-2
variants
in England.

UK and Germany ease coronavirus restrictions
The
coronavirus
epidemic
evolves unevenly in Europe, where the United Kingdom and Germany lift some restrictions on Monday, as Israel did this weekend, but others such as Hungary or Finland strengthen them.
Hope is reborn in the UK, where children return to classrooms this Monday morning, a crucial step in the government's plan to progressively lift the country out of a third lockdown.
Thanks to its vaccination campaign (22 million first doses injected), the government estimates that as of March 29, meetings of six people abroad will be possible.
Non-essential pubs, restaurants and shops are scheduled to reopen on April 12.
