(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) 9 new confirmed cases in Hong Kong, 4 cases of unknown local origin

  China News Service, Hong Kong, March 8. The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on the 8th that there have been 9 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in Hong Kong, including 4 local cases of unknown origin.

  As of 0:00 on the 8th, the Health Protection Center is investigating 9 newly confirmed cases. So far, there have been 11,100 cases in Hong Kong, including 11,099 confirmed cases and one suspected case.

The Center for Health Protection did not hold a regular press conference that day.

  Among the new cases, 3 were imported cases, 6 were local cases, including 4 were of unknown origin, and the remaining 2 were related cases.

The cases of unknown origin involved 1 male and 3 females, aged between 35 and 48. The occupations included security guards, waiters, project liaisons, and housewives.

  The Center for Health Protection announced that in the past 14 days (February 22 to March 7), a total of 222 new cases were added, including 181 local cases, of which 59 were of unknown origin.

  On the same day, the Hong Kong Hospital Authority announced that as of 9 a.m. on the 8th, a total of 7 confirmed patients had been discharged from the hospital in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 10,636 confirmed or suspected patients have recovered and discharged.

There are currently 221 confirmed patients in 23 public hospitals, community treatment facilities and the Hong Kong Infection Control Center of North Lantau Hospital. Of these, 13 are in critical condition, 15 are in serious condition, and the remaining 193 are in stable condition.
