Affected by the "Sun Ling" phenomenon, there will be "mosaic" and "snowflakes" on TV screens in the near future

Xinhua News Agency, Tianjin, March 6th (Reporter Zhou Runjian) Attention friends who like to watch TV!

Affected by the astronomical phenomenon "sunrise", when people watch TV recently, the TV screen may appear "mosaic", "snowflakes", "black screen" or even signal interruption.

Astronomical experts said that "sunlight" is a normal astronomical phenomenon that will not cause harm to televisions and the human body. People do not need to be confused, let alone worry.

The TV screen usually returns to normal after a few minutes, and the longest time is 20 minutes.

The State Administration of Radio and Television recently released a forecast of the time for the spring satellite "sunrise" in major cities across the country in 2021.

The notice pointed out that from February 25 to March 17, 2021, the satellites used for the transmission of China’s radio and television programs will enter the "Sun Transit" period. At that time, the reception of satellite radio and television programs will be affected by the "Sun Transit" and will be "interrupted". Satellites such as "Star 6A", "Zhongxing 6B", "Zhongxing 6C", "Zhongxing 9", "Asia Pacific 5C", "Asia Pacific 6C", "Asia 6" "Asia 7" and other satellites will be announced in major domestic cities on the "Ri Ling" time .

  So, what is "riling"?

Shi Zhicheng, a member of the Chinese Astronomical Society and director of the Tianjin Astronomical Society, introduced that the sun passes through the equator every year around the "spring equinox" and "autumn equinox," during which time the sun is above the earth's equator.

During this period, if the sun, the communication satellite and the ground satellite receiving antenna happen to be in a straight line, the strong electromagnetic radiation of the sun will cause strong interference to the satellite signal, which will degrade the quality of the received signal and cause images and texts to appear on the TV screen. Unclear, "mosaic", "snowflakes" or even "black screen" conditions are called "sunlight", which means the sun invades and interferes. This is a very normal natural phenomenon.

Shi Zhicheng said that although "Sunlink" will affect the normal reception of satellite TV signals, it will not damage the TV, nor will it interfere with mobile phone signals, nor will it endanger human health.
