It was newly found that 17 men and women nationwide who had never stayed abroad were infected with the mutated coronavirus that spreads in the United Kingdom and other countries.
Infection was discovered for the first time in Ishikawa Prefecture, and up to 20 prefectures have been confirmed to be infected.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, among the 17 newly confirmed infections, the ones who were infected with the mutant virus that is spreading in the United Kingdom were

This is the first time that infection with a mutant virus has been confirmed in Ishikawa Prefecture other than the quarantine test.
In addition, the mutant virus that is spreading in South Africa includes
two men in their 50s and a woman in their 40s in Gifu prefecture.
A mutant virus found in Brazil
was infected by a girl under the age of 10 in Saitama Prefecture.
All have no history of staying abroad and are believed to have been infected domestically.
As a result, the number of people confirmed to be infected with the mutant virus in Japan is 194 in total in 20 prefectures, excluding airport quarantine.
