A response to the growing anger of the elderly who can no longer bear not finding time slots to be vaccinated against the coronavirus?

The regional health agency (ARS) of Pays-de-la-Loire announced this Friday afternoon that it had made available nearly 3,000 additional doses of AstraZeneca vaccine in the region.

This delivery, associated with the mobilization of health personnel, will allow the exceptional opening this weekend of vaccination centers usually closed on these days.

They will be reserved for retirees aged over 75 living at home and people aged 50 to 74 with at least one comorbidity.

In Loire-Atlantique, two centers open: La Baule on Saturday and Sunday, as well as Nantes Erdre on Sunday.

In Vendée, the centers of Montaigu and Noirmoutier-en-île will be open.

In Maine-et-Loire, they will be in Cholet and Pin-en-Mauges.

In Mayenne, you will have to go towards the center of Laval.

Finally in Sarthe, the location is not yet known.

Appointment required

Vaccination is free but you must make an appointment via the Doctolib website or the departmental telephone platform *.

In Vendée, eligible people will be contacted directly.

“This campaign is part of a context where the virus actively, with a significant percentage of variants, justifies the ARS.

It is all the more important to protect the most vulnerable people at risk of developing severe forms of the disease.

"In Pays-de-la-Loire, around 5% of the population over the age of 18 would be vaccinated against Covid-19.
