Saint-Thomas, Notre-Dame-de-l'Heure, Al-Tāhirā ... In Iraq, Mosul, the second largest city in the country, is home to several Christian buildings.

But these still bear traces of the passage of the Islamic State group, which occupied Mosul from 2014 to 2017. During the domination of the terrorists, these buildings were looted, mutilated and desecrated.

Today, the Christian community in Iraq is trying to rehabilitate these churches, especially on the occasion of the arrival of Pope Francis, a first for a head of the Catholic Church.
