Romanian filmmaker Radu Jude, 43, won the Golden Bear in Berlin on Friday for his film "Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn", an acidic achievement on the hypocrisy of contemporary societies, shot in the midst of a pandemic.
The Berlinale jury, which stood online, wanted to salute a film "as elaborate as it is savage", which follows in the footsteps of a Romanian high school teacher, whose life is turned upside down by the leak of an intimate video.
Germany's Maren Eggert went on to win the first "non-gender" interpretation prize, awarded either to the best actor or actress awarded on Friday at the closing ceremony of the Berlinale, which was held online due to the pandemic .
The 47-year-old actress was honored for her role in the romantic comedy "I'm Your Man" by German director Maria Schrader, where she plays the role of a researcher falling in love with a humanoid robot.
