(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) 11 new cases in Hong Kong confirmed as 37-year-old part-time foreign domestic helper

  China News Service, Hong Kong, March 5 - The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Health Protection Center of the Department of Health announced on the 5th that 11 new cases of new coronary pneumonia have been confirmed in Hong Kong.

Among the confirmed cases of unknown origin that day included a 37-year-old part-time foreign domestic helper.

  The Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health announced that as of 0:00 on the 5th, the center is investigating 11 newly confirmed cases. So far, the total number of cases in Hong Kong is 11067, including 11066 confirmed cases and one suspected case.

  Among the new cases, 3 were imported cases, 8 were local cases, including 4 cases of unknown origin, and the remaining 4 cases were related cases.

  The case of unknown origin involved a 37-year-old part-time foreign domestic helper. He developed headache and other symptoms on February 28. A sample was submitted on March 2 and the diagnosis was later confirmed.

She last went to work on February 23; an 18-year-old male student developed headache and fever on February 23, submitted a sample on March 1, and was diagnosed later. He did not return to school to attend the face-to-face class.

Two other civilians were also diagnosed, aged 47 and 48, all male.

  The Centre for Health Protection announced that in the past 14 days (February 19 to March 4), a total of 235 new cases were added, including 197 local cases, 66 of which were of unknown origin.

  On the same day, the Hong Kong Hospital Authority informed that as of 9 am, a total of 11 confirmed patients had been discharged from the hospital in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 10,604 confirmed or suspected patients have recovered and been discharged.

A total of 220 confirmed patients are in 22 public hospitals, community treatment facilities and the Hong Kong Infection Control Center of North Lantau Hospital. 13 of them are in critical condition, 12 are in serious condition, and the remaining 195 are in stable condition.
