In "Sans Rendez-vous", doctor Jimmy Mohamed takes stock of the deleterious effects of screens on health, especially children.

If we know that exposure to screens has effects on the health of our eyes, it can also have other repercussions, such as cardiovascular problems.

Computers, smartphones, tablets ... Screens are now ubiquitous in our lives, even in the bedroom.

However, they are not without risk, especially for our eyes.

Because they promote "dry eye", explains in "Without Appointment" doctor Jimmy Mohamed.

Concretely, a person in front of a screen will tend to blink less, hindering the natural lubrication of the eyeballs.

Development of myopia and the risk of cardiovascular problems

They "develop myopia", further indicates the doctor.

Moreover, "in 2050, half of the world's population will be nearsighted, in part because of screens."

This is why it is necessary to limit exposure from an early age.

"A five-year-old, for example, has nothing to do on a tablet. But he can watch cartoons on the TV, if she is far away and not in the bedroom."

Also note that using a screen in a low light context will worsen the phenomenon.

Not to mention that it can lead to cardiovascular problems due to inactivity.

And this effect is already being felt, reports Jimmy Mohamed.

"We know that children take a minute longer than 20 years ago to do 400 meters. They have therefore lost physical capacities due to inactivity due to screens."

Screens, "the enemy of our sleep"

Not to mention that "the screens and LEDs that light up our homes will disrupt our internal clock, and therefore our sleep," he adds.

This is why it can be interesting to light up with candles.

"Because even children exposed to screens who think they are sleeping well actually have a different quality of sleep than others. They sleep poorly."

To sum up, "screens are the enemy of our sleep".
