Let youth blow your long hair

  Read the tips

The holiday has passed, and the resumption of work and production in Beijing in March is in full swing. This prosperous megacity has also attracted many female migrants who continue to polish themselves in ordinary jobs and create a better life with wisdom and enthusiasm. , Also injects "her" power into the development of the city.

At 5:30 in the morning, Su Fengtao had already got up and cleaned up, and arrived on the second floor of the restaurant at 6:10 on time to perform pre-dinner preparations such as tableware disinfection and table and chair placement.

At the end of the meal, customers must not only clean up the tableware, but also clean up and replenish the seasoning jars in time. Until 4 pm, the 8-hour work day is over, but she feels extremely fulfilled.

A few days ago, the reporter interviewed many female migrant workers of different occupations and different ages in Beijing like Su Fengtao to learn about their different struggle stories.

  Every decision requires courage

For Su Fengtao, Beijing is no stranger.

To help her family reduce the burden of living, the 17-year-old arrived in Beijing by train from Xiaolin Township, Quyang County, Baoding, Hebei.

At that time, during the Beijing Olympic Games, the people coming and going on the street did not scare the little girl away, but made her feel surprised and excited.

With good appearance conditions and enthusiastic and generous personality, Su Fengtao found a job as a waiter in a coffee shop in Nanluoguxiang, and became a "pistachio" in the shop.

Compared with Su Fengtao's courage and excitement more than 10 years ago, when the 26-year-old Shi Hongjing came to Beijing in 2020, she had more responsibility.

After graduating from the Conservatory of Music with a piano major, Shi Hongjing followed the advice of her parents and returned to her hometown in Qian'an, Hebei, where she became an intern teacher with peace of mind.

After a year and a half, when the work pace deviated from her inner desire for career, Shi Hongjing still chose to resign.

From then on, she officially started her entrepreneurial life, opening studios, playgrounds, shopping malls and food stalls... Until August 2020, Shi Hongjing decided to come to Beijing with her husband.

"This decision requires a lot of courage for us, especially after we have children. My son is less than one year old, and sometimes I think about it. Isn’t it good to be stable in my hometown, and to grow up with the child "Speaking of this, Shi Hongjing's tears involuntarily flowed down, and she showed reporters a video about her son on her mobile phone.

While working in a shopping mall, while busy investigating entrepreneurial projects, Shi Hongjing finally spotted a chance to join a milk tea brand and went to the Chengdu headquarters for inspection.

After the inspection and training, Shi Hongjing sold the house in her hometown, prepared for the decoration of the milk tea shop, and officially started a new round of entrepreneurship.

  Every experience requires diligence

From piano teacher to boss wife, Shi Hongjing is full of emotion at the change in her identity.

"Being a piano teacher used to be a more authoritative image, but the catering industry is more about serving customers, and the patience and care of people are tests." Shi Hongjing said that it was the year that helped her complete this transformation. The experience of opening a restaurant in my hometown.

Shi Hongjing, who has always been proud and confident, slowly learns to figure out the expressions of customers and adjust dishes based on feedback.

In addition to learning how to settle accounts, do a good job in quality control, and manage employees, Shi Hongjing is even more grateful for the personality changes that this experience has brought her, and successfully helped her to gradually gain a foothold in Beijing and climb up.

Unlike Shi Hongjing's change from adventurous to convergent, Zhu Yanli's experience in the catering industry has made her more outgoing and confident.

Zhu Yanli, born in 1982, went to work in Jinzhou from her home in Woniuhe Town, Zhalantun City, Inner Mongolia when she was 18 years old. Her first job was selling preserved fruits in a shopping mall.

"My personality has always been very introverted, and I don't know how to deal with strangers. I have a small voice, a strong local accent, and I don't know how to sell. It's very difficult for me." There is no customer source without yelling. Some Zhu Yanli has not opened for a few days. Anxious, it is inevitable to blame myself.

Thinking that the purpose of leaving her hometown and working hard is to temper herself, Zhu Yanli finally convinced herself and took the initiative to ask her colleagues how to sell.

In less than 3 months, she became the most accurate, considerate and enthusiastic salesman among her colleagues.

Zhu Yanli, who gradually opened her heart, thought that she needed to master a craft, so she went to the restaurant to be an apprentice of pastry.

"The master is very strict with the apprentices. If the willow leaf bag is not done well, we are not allowed to eat. It took me a whole week to practice hard after get off work to do it." Strict training brings her not only skills, but also With a serious attitude of diligent study and practice, she will always be the first to come and the latest to leave from then on.

And what Zhu Yanli often said is "the master leads the door, and the practice is personal." For her own "practice", she came to work in a dumpling restaurant in Beijing in 2010.

“The master doesn’t teach how to adjust the fillings, so I’m the first to go to the store to prepare, weigh the seasonings, and then weigh the seasonings at the end of the night, so I study the ratio over and over again, and I’ve delved into it myself.” Now, Zhu Yanli is already there. Master the skill of rolling the skin with both hands and become the pastry chef of CNPC Yangguang Catering (Beijing) Liupu Kang Restaurant.

  Every gain needs firmness

For Su Fengtao, Zhu Yanli's calmness and determination requires time and experience to inspire.

The excitement of coming to Beijing for the first time in 2008 was gradually defeated by my lack of academic qualifications and skills.

"When I first came to Beijing, I spoke a dialect, and many foreigners came to the restaurant to order. I made a lot of jokes, but the boss and colleagues took good care of me and helped me improve my studies."

In her spare time, Su Fengtao was introduced as a cheongsam model by a friend. “The important thing is to be enthusiastic. You must treat customers as your friends to introduce products, and they will naturally feel your sincerity.” Through continuous improvement of skills, she succeeded in helping the boss. Double the turnover of selling.

In 2011, Su Fengtao returned to her hometown to get married, but she became more unaccustomed, so she came to Beijing again in 2016 to become a waiter in a restaurant.

In the past five years, Su Fengtao started from the most basic level and has been a third-level waiter. He has a good understanding of the taste preferences of the second-level regional diners.

"After get off work, I will play badminton with my colleagues. I have been practicing piano by myself for more than a year. I feel more and more that life is in my own hands." Su Fengtao said.

Looking back at the ten years in Beijing, Zhu Yanli is a far cry from the little girl who "cannot even hold a knife" at the time. She learned the belief of "treating customers as family members with sincerity" when she was selling in Jinzhou. She has been with her to this day.

Zhu Yanli said: "I don't have so many ideas, but I simply think that doing one thing is to do it well, learn a skill seriously and use it well."

As the owner of the entrepreneurial store, Shi Hongjing has never let go of her piano major. No matter how busy she is at work, she will maintain her professional training and will go out to substitute lessons on weekends.

After 5 years of entrepreneurship, Shi Hongjing started from scratch again. In addition to the external debts that she owed to start her own business, she also had the care and support of her family.

"The experience of these years has made me understand that people must be able to accept the ordinary, but at the same time they must also have the spirit of not admitting defeat." At 12:30 in the evening, Shi Hongjing and her husband changed three night buses, and finally got from Dongcheng District. The milk tea shop was moved back to the small rental house in Changping, waiting for the arrival of a new day.
