The main gate of the national historic site "Tottori Castle Ruins" in Tottori City, where restoration work has been underway, was completed and opened to the press on the 4th.

Tottori City is proceeding with the restoration work of bridges and gates at the national historic site "Tottori Castle Ruins", and since July last year, it has been restoring "Nakano Gomon" which is the main gate.

The gate has just been completed and was opened to the press on the 4th before the Shunkou ceremony to be held on the 13th of this month.

The completed Ote-mon is about 10 meters wide and 5 meters high, and both ends are pillars called "close-up pillars" that form an inverted C shape along the stone wall, about 400 years ago in the Edo period. It faithfully reproduces the gate made in the early days.

In addition, based on the excavated items from the excavation, the roof tile called "Aoimon", which was the only one allowed by the Tokugawa Shogunate to be used by the Tokugawa Shogunate, was restored.

Mr. Yorikazu Okagaki of the Cultural Properties Division of the Tottori City Board of Education said, "When I completed it, I felt it was bigger than I saw in the drawing, and I felt the dignity of the Tottori Domain at that time. I asked the citizens to actually see it and go through it. I want it to be a gate that makes people proud of its history. "
