Still the most affected metropolis in France

With an incidence rate of 563 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the Alpes-Maritimes remain well above the national average, which is 222. A slight drop compared to the figures at the start of the week (617 ).

As for several weeks, Nice remains the metropolis where the indicator is the highest with 691 confirmed cases, ahead of Paris and its 342 people tested positive per 100,000 inhabitants.

Hospitalizations in intensive care on the rise

In twenty-four hours, 67 new Covid-19 patients were hospitalized in the Alpes-Maritimes, nine people less than Tuesday.

In total, 731 patients are currently hospitalized for the coronavirus in the department.

If conventional hospitalizations are less important in recent days, hospitalizations in intensive care continue to increase.

Over the past 24 hours, 23 new patients have been admitted to these departments, bringing the total number of people in intensive care, intensive care or continuous monitoring to 123.

The bed occupancy rate is 85.7%, four points lower than on Monday.

Even though the number of deaths is decreasing, it remains high.

Since Tuesday evening, twelve people have died in hospital.

Almost 60,000 people vaccinated

Monday, the prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes claimed to have taken the step "acceleration of vaccination" as "solution to get out of the crisis".

Benoît Huber, chief of staff, assured that the objective was to have vaccinated all people over 75 years old, or 135,000 people, by the end of March.
