A 35-year-old man who ran a sales agency was arrested for illegally taking out more than 6,000 information of customers who purchased Softbank mobile phones.

The Metropolitan Police Department and others are investigating that the information taken out was passed on to an acquaintance's man and misused for illegal charges such as the smartphone payment service "PayPay".

It means that he has denied the charges against the investigation.

The person arrested was Shusaku Inaba (35) in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, who ran a mobile phone distributor.

According to investigators, information such as the names and account numbers of customers who purchased SoftBank mobile phones in the three years up to 2018, a total of more than 6000 copies were illegally taken out, and other products were taken out. There is a suspicion of violating the Unfair Competition Prevention Law because it was diverted to sales.

Last year, an acquaintance man was arrested and prosecuted for illegally charging the cash withdrawn from another person's deposit account to the "PayPay" account, and about 9,500 personal information was found on the man's computer. It means that it matched the information that Inaba brought out illegally.

The Metropolitan Police Department and others are investigating the details of the information that was taken out by an acquaintance's man, who believed that it was misused for a total of over 20 million yen.

In response to the investigation, he denied the charges, saying, "I didn't know it would be illegal."

Softbank illegal take-out 6347 cases

Following the arrest of the former owner of the distributor, SoftBank said, "We deeply apologize for causing a great deal of anxiety and inconvenience to our customers. We will reinforce our management and supervision responsibilities to the distributor. At the same time, we will make a company-wide effort to prevent recurrence. "

According to Softbank, 6347 cases were illegally taken out, including the customer's name, address, date of birth, and account number, and Inaba copied the contract copy without permission or took a picture. It means that he was doing it.

Softbank will apologize to the victims by explaining the circumstances in writing in the future.
