The Australian airline Qantas has a new flight on offer.

With “Mystery Flights” the airline wants to revive the business, which was severely limited by the Corona crisis.

Passengers book day trips within Australia - without knowing whether they will land on Bondi Beach or in a vineyard.

Apparently this offer already existed in the 1990s, as reported by the British BBC.

Accordingly, Qantas is planning a day package including activities such as winegrowing or gourmet food through to snorkeling in tropical waters.

Australia is following a rather strict foreclosure course in the Corona crisis.

There are only a few exceptions, such as a fragile travel corridor with New Zealand, which has a similar pandemic policy.

Further international trips will not be possible until autumn at the earliest, but probably not until 2022.

According to its boss Alan Joyce, Qantas is currently planning to largely resume international travel from Australia at the end of October.

Only then is the Australian vaccination program expected to be completed.

Qantas had previously announced that it would only allow air travelers on board with a vaccination certificate.

Air travel restrictions in the pandemic have cost Australians a lot of money.

The company reported an adjusted pre-tax loss of A $ 1.03 billion as of December 31, compared to A $ 771 million profit a year earlier.

In fiscal 2022, the company expects 40 percent of capacity before the virus outbreak.

Qantas had already hit the headlines with another business idea in the fall.

At that time, the first "flights to nowhere" came into the program, of which at least the first turned out to be bestsellers.

The sightseeing flights passed Australian sights.
