Mirko Drotschmann leads two media lives - one on traditional television, for example as the presenter of "Terra X" on ZDF.

And one as a YouTuber under the name MrWissen2go.

With videos on topics such as forest dieback, the possible return of Donald Trump or the "uncanny influence of ex-Stasi people", Drotschmann reached an audience of millions.

In the interview, the 34-year-old talks about his life as a YouTuber, unpleasant experiences and the future of journalism.

WORLD:

You have a very well-known channel on YouTube with almost two million followers called MrWissen2Go, so you are a YouTuber.

Who or what is that, a YouTuber?

Mirko Drotschmann:

Well, anyone who is on the YouTube platform is inevitably called a YouTuber.

But actually I see myself as a journalist.

This is my job title.

And of course, I'm the YouTuber on YouTube.

But when you think of the YouTuber, you probably think of someone who is holding some kind of product in the camera and doing lifestyle topics.

That doesn't suit me.
