Hyogo Prefecture announced on the 3rd that it was newly confirmed that 40 people in the prefecture were infected with the new coronavirus.
It also announced that eight people who had been infected with the new coronavirus were confirmed dead.
The total number of infected people announced in the prefecture was 18,073, and the number of people who died was 549.
