In Morocco, two NGOs, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, stepped up in quick succession in early February to denounce the authorities' repression against any critical voice.

At the end of January, the historian Maâti Monjib was sentenced to one year in prison for “fraud” and “endangering the security of the State”.

Figure of the fight for human rights in the country, the historian is the founder of the Moroccan Association of Investigative Journalism. Economist Fouad Abdelmoumni, famous human rights defender and activist of Transparency Morocco, revealed recently being the victim last year of a smear campaign intended to silence him.

Videos of his intimate life were thus sent to his relatives.

Fouad Abdelmoumni is Pierre Firtion's guest this morning.
