An air mass coming from the Sahara and loaded with desert particles is announced on the massif by the Observatory of the quality of the air of Occitanie (Atmo).
While this may sound exotic, it is also a major source of air quality pollution.

Since yesterday, Atmo had announced that this Wednesday the Hautes-Pyrénées were placed on maximum alert for PM10 suspended particle pollution.
An alert extended this Thursday to Hautes-Pyrénées, Ariège, Pyrénées-Orientales and Haute-Garonne.
The frail people, as well as pregnant women, are invited to move as little as possible, and the entire population to reduce physical activities.
