The vaccine arrived in Okinawa Prefecture on the night of the 2nd, as priority vaccination of the new coronavirus vaccine for medical professionals began in various places.

On a passenger plane arriving at Naha Airport after 10:40 pm on the 2nd, the vaccine used for priority inoculation of medical staff was delivered to Okinawa Prefecture for the first time.



This is the first time that the vaccine has been airlifted in Japan.



The vaccine was placed in a container kept at minus 70 degrees Celsius on dry ice, and after the arrival of the airliner, the container was placed in the car and stored in a cold storage at the cargo terminal inside the airport.



According to Okinawa Prefecture, there are 7 boxes of vaccines that have arrived, at least 6825 times, and they will be delivered to 7 hospitals in the prefecture in sequence.



It will be delivered to the Prefectural Nambu Medical Center / Children's Medical Center, Prefectural Northern Hospital, Prefectural Chubu Hospital, Ryukyu University Hospital, Urasoe General Hospital in 3 days, Prefectural Yaeyama Hospital in 4 days, and Prefectural Miyako Hospital in 5 days.



Vaccinations for healthcare workers in Okinawa will begin this week and will cover approximately 57,000 people.
