The manager and producer of music and cinema François Ravard is the guest on Thursday of "Culture Médias" for the publication of his book "Reminders, memories of a manager".

He evokes at Philippe Vandel's microphone his career memories, and in particular the funny way in which Serge Gainsbourg convinced a reluctant Claude Berri to play in his last film, "Stan the flasher".

INTERVIEW

In 1990, a year before his death, Serge Gainsbourg released "Stan the flasher", his last feature film.

It is the actor and director Claude Berri who plays the main role.

A choice of heart for Serge Gainsbourg, who did not hesitate to do a big bluff act to convince a rather reluctant Claude Berri to play in his film.

An anecdote told Thursday in

Culture Médias

the friend of Serge Gainsbourg, the manager François Ravard, who attended the funny scene.

He published his autobiography

Recalls, memoirs of a manager.

A controversial film by Serge Gainsbourg

"When I became a film producer, I called Serge, because I knew he dreamed of making another film," recalls François Ravard.

But the singer's project is complicated.

With

Stan the flasher

, he wants to make a film about the story of an exhibitionist man.

"Even then, it was very, very hard to finance. And today, I think it would be impossible," said the producer.

In this main role of this film which promises to be scandalous, Serge Gainsbourg wants Claude Berri, then actor and star director, who released

Tchao Pantin

in 1983. Claude Berri first said yes to Serge Gainsbourg.

Then no.

He again confirms his desire to play the role.

Then retracts again.

So much so that when filming begins, Claude Berri is not present.

When Philippe Maneuver looks back on his meeting with Serge Gainsbourg

"Claude finally arrives on the set so that he will not make the film and that he has come to announce it from man to man to Serge Gainsbourg", explains François Ravard.

The producer warns the director, who remains impassive.

"Don't worry, I have an idea," reassures Serge Gainsbourg.

"He winks at me and falls to the ground"

Claude Berri arrives in the singer and director's dressing room, intending to tell him that he will not play in

Stan the Flasher

.

But Serge Gainsbourg does not let him explain his choice.

"Serge winks at me and falls to the ground. He mimics a heart attack, with saliva on the edge of his mouth," François Ravard smiles today.

He then calls an ambulance to come to the aid of the imaginary patient.

Serge Gainsbourg's ruse works: Claude Berri is terrified.

Once the doctor arrives, he panically promises the director that they will find an arrangement.

"And Claude Berri made the film", specifies François Ravard.

A film that will, of course, be scandalous when it comes out.

Serge Gainsbourg died on March 2, 1991, just 30 years ago.

Europe 1 devotes a special day to it.
