It has been repeated many times: Corona restrictions first hit the large crowds and it is companies and practitioners in the live and sports industry that will be affected the most.

But New Zealand is an exception.

The border with the country is closed to most travelers and the country has not had any covid-related deaths since September.

A total of 26 people have died from the disease in the country.

Playing live means everything

This means that large crowds can gather.

The band Six60 has toured the country during January and February and has sold over 130,000 tickets to their six outdoor gigs between January 16 and February 27.

When Kulturnyheterna talks to singer Matiu Walters, the band gets ready for their sixth and final gig on the tour.

- To be able to play live, with real instruments, in front of a real audience means everything, he says and sends a greeting to musicians in other countries:

- "Kia kaha", as we say here - hold on.

Hope to see you soon.
