Execution of 11 convicted persons in criminal cases in Egypt

The Prisons Authority of the Egyptian Ministry of Interior inside Burj Al Arab Prison in Alexandria, executed death sentences against 11 prisoners convicted in criminal cases. The bodies were transferred to the Kom al-Dikka morgue in preparation for handing them over to their families for burial.

The death sentences were carried out in the presence of leaders of Burj Al Arab prison, a member of the Public Prosecution office, a forensic doctor, and a representative of the Endowment Authority.

A security source said in press statements that after the end of all degrees of litigation for the convicts, the judgments became final and enforceable.

The source pointed out that among those executed with the right to be executed is a butcher who killed his wife and children, in addition to the murderer of his mother by smashing her head and then setting her body on fire, and another killed his sister with automatic weapons and shot a number of people and killed one person and wounded others.
