Shortly after the Great East Japan Earthquake, 10 years ago, a forum was held in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture to discuss how to convey the experiences of the earthquake in the future.

This forum was organized by an executive committee made up of people who are active in storytellers who convey their experiences in the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and about 100 people participated.



Among them, Ki Kumagai, a third-year high school student in Kesennuma City who was affected by the disaster when he was in elementary school and is currently active as a storyteller, said, "Many people are aware that they are the last generation to remember the earthquake. I would like to carry out activities to raise awareness of disaster prevention. "



After that, discussions were held by Miyagi, Iwate, and the storytellers in Fukushima, saying, "It is necessary to devise ways to make people who are not affected by the disaster feel the fear of the tsunami," and "to prepare for the next disaster, various generations We should share our wisdom and pass it on. "



After the forum, Toshiro Sato, a former junior high school teacher who lost his second daughter who was a sixth grader at Okawa Elementary School in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, and continues his storyteller activities, said, "I learned a lot from listening to your thoughts on folklore. I would like to continue to pass down the traditions that will lead to the next generation by utilizing the various networks that I have cultivated over the past 10 years. "
