Slow down, pass the ball slowly!

[Explanation] When the reporter met the Portuguese football coach Hugo, he was instructing the players to practice in Chinese mixed with the Ordos dialect.

Nearly 5 years ago, he came to Ordos, a city in northern China, which is thousands of miles away from his hometown, with the dream of "out of Portugal coaching".

On February 28, Hugo, who had just finished his holiday in Hainan, told his story in an interview with reporters.

[Explanation] Before coming to China, Hugo was already well-known. He was a UEFA A-level coach and a well-known Portuguese youth training champion coach. During his coaching career in Portugal, he trained 6 Portuguese national team members, 3 European first-tier club players.

He also won many honors in Portugal and the European Youth League.

As a coach who is qualified to coach the Super League team, Hugo will spend all his time in China in his youth training.

I have been in Portugal (for a long time) and need some new challenges, because it is difficult to learn about the new culture in the same city with the same children and the same people, and it is difficult to teach our teaching experience in Portugal To more people.

[Explanation] Hugo has his own football concept. In interviews, he repeatedly emphasized to reporters the importance of youth training to the overall football level of a country. In the youth training, basic skills practice and scientific training are what Hugo values most. .

In training, he will formulate different training programs for each player, so that their football level can be fully developed.

I know that in many cases it is very boring to insist on teaching basic skills. Everything must start from the most basic, just like when I was a child, I just started learning to write, talk, and walk.

But when you master the basic skills, training will be easier, and many things will be simpler.

[Explanation] On the training ground, every time a player passes and every shot posture, Hugo has a close eye on it.

In his life, he loves to laugh. His strictness on the court has left a deep impression on the players, and the improvement brought by strict training has also impressed the players.

During the holiday season, the players will also pay tribute to Hugo with homemade gifts.

Although it is a bit fierce, I think the teaching is pretty good, but I am a little afraid of him.

These things he teaches are all available to us.

Not only teach skills and tactics, but also teach trust between teammates.

Before and after training, I will be everyone’s best friend, but during training, we can’t get along with friends. If we don’t take training seriously and teach seriously, we can’t teach well.

Training becomes a joke, which is unacceptable to me.

[Commentary] Ding Jie, the head of the club, agrees with Hugo's football philosophy.

When accompanied Hugo back to Portugal to visit relatives, Ding Jie learned about Portugal's strong football culture. She hoped that Hugo could become the link between Portugal and China and bring a good football culture here.

Portugal is a world of football. When I went there, the plane hadn't landed yet. When I looked down from the porthole, I could see this stadium and that stadium. If it was daytime, I would see the lawn.

You can see it from the plane.

From the moment of landing, everyone started talking about football.

From children to elderly people in their 80s and 90s, everyone likes football.

It is a sport with very positive energy that can affect life, and it is the most beautiful sport in the world.

[Explanation] Hugo has been in China for nearly 5 years now, and he is used to the food and life here, but he is most concerned about football.

He intends to recommend some outstanding players to Portugal for further studies.

At the same time, he also hopes that the youth training concept he advocates will be known and accepted by more people in China and cultivate more Chinese players who can go to the world.

This is not an easy job, but I believe that many things are changing. It just takes some time. This is normal and it takes time.
