According to Long Zhenzhang, Shibadong Village is located in the center of the contiguous destitute area of Wuling Mountain. It is a typical poor village inhabited by Miao people.
In 2013, the per capita annual net income was only 1,668 yuan, and the incidence of poverty was as high as 57%.
In recent years, Shibadong Village has focused on the development of the main line of rural tourism, integrated local resources in accordance with the integration of agriculture and tourism, and strived to build a "tourism +" industrial system to drive economic growth through the development of the tourism industry.
In 2020, the per capita net income of the village will reach 18,369 yuan, and the village collective income will reach 2 million yuan.

We have abundant tourism resources, as well as our red tourism resources. These are what we can say are natural endowments and some humanistic endowments, so we must seize these resources and vigorously develop our tourism.
When we actually go to the countryside, the specific time should be 2016. When we counted in 2018, 400,000 people came to our village (tourists), and 600,000 people came to our village in 2019. In 2020, Last year, due to the impact of the epidemic, our number of tourists was 420,000.
In recent years, our tourism has brought us more than 10 million yuan in income.

The development of tourism has enabled more than 200 villagers to find jobs at home, and every household can find a way to get rich according to their actual conditions.
At present, there are 8 homestays and 15 farmhouses in Shibadong Village, which can accommodate about 100 tourists every day. The local area also plans to build 180 high-end homestays to facilitate the food, accommodation and transportation of tourists.
In addition, Shibadong Village also relies on its own unique natural environment to develop a series of characteristic industries such as characteristic planting, Miao embroidery, mountain spring water, etc., to enhance rural tourism.
Long Zhenzhang told reporters that the 18-hole kiwi fruit is the most successful industrial project in the local area. Not only the products are directly connected to Hong Kong and Macau, the local villagers have also received dividends from the kiwi industry for three consecutive years.
In the future, Shibadong Village will also vigorously develop the kiwifruit planting industry, so that visitors to Shibadong Village can see the kiwifruit in person.
