On the morning of February 26, the Director of the Civil Service Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Nie Dequan and the Director of the Food and Health Bureau Chen Zhaoshi visited the community vaccination center in the Hong Kong Central Library Exhibition Hall to inspect the operation of the new crown vaccination plan on the first day.

Nie Dequan said that the five vaccination centers were operating smoothly on the first day. When the appointment was made earlier, the public responded enthusiastically, and the quota was full in the first two weeks.

At present, the SAR government is further improving the online appointment system. It will reopen at 9 o'clock next Monday (March 1). The public can make appointments until March 26.

He said that in response to the desire of many citizens to vaccinate as soon as possible, the SAR government will add three more vaccination centers, including Tseung Kwan O Stadium, Kwai Tsing Linsde Stadium and Tuen Mun Yau Oi Stadium, which will operate for 56 days and will be updated based on vaccine demand.

On the same day, Tung Chee-hwa, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, also came to the scene, calling on citizens to be vaccinated to jointly defeat the new crown virus.
