AirAsia Japan, an LCC = low-cost carrier based in Aichi Prefecture's Chubu Airport, which announced its withdrawal last year, received a decision from the Tokyo District Court to start bankruptcy proceedings.

"AirAsia Japan" had developed four routes connecting New Chitose Airport and Sendai Airport based on Chubu Airport, but all routes were dropped due to the spread of infection with the new coronavirus. He announced that he would abolish and withdraw, and in November last year, he filed a petition with the Tokyo District Court to start bankruptcy proceedings.



According to the bankruptcy trustee's lawyer, the court decided to start bankruptcy proceedings on the 24th.



The total debt amounted to approximately 21.7 billion yen at the time of filing, and it is expected that procedures such as the sale of remaining assets will be carried out in the future.
