A good week before the next federal-state summit, FDP chairman Christian Lindner called for an end to the nationwide lockdown and an improvement in the Corona warning app.

“The area-wide lockdown must end.

It is too sharp an encroachment on basic rights, ”wrote Lindner in a guest article in the“ Bild ”newspaper (Wednesday edition).

"Because the more tests, vaccinations and regional differences there are, the less the seven-day value of 35 or 50 says anything."

Lindner warned that in future each region would have to be considered individually, with the number of new infections and the location in the hospitals serving as guidelines.

"According to a step-by-step plan with if-then rules, the door can be opened or the emergency brake pulled," wrote Lindner.

The FDP boss also spoke out in favor of a massive expansion of the rapid tests and an improvement in the Corona warning app.

"Testing promises freedom - along with masks, air purifiers, digital infection tracking and protection of the vulnerable groups," he wrote.

There should therefore be no more delays.

The federal government must allow tests and make them available, as in Austria or Denmark.

“We are adding a 24-hour free pass to the Corona app after a negative quick test.

Then restaurant visits are possible, 2 said Lindner.

The FDP politician also spoke out in favor of introducing a national vaccination portal that could facilitate logistics.

"For appointments that are not used, we need a list of police officers, teachers and other professional groups so that no vaccination can is lost." All developments in the live ticker
