Will the Cameroon team retain its title of African Under-17 Champion on March 31 in Morocco?

The Cameroonians, crowned in 2019, will have a lot to do in Group C of the CAN U17 2021, scheduled from March 13 to 31 in the Shereefian Kingdom.

They will face Mali, winner in 2017 and 2015, Senegal, which has never shone in this competition, and South Africa.

The Moroccans will play the opening match against the Ugandans, before crossing paths with the Ivorians and the Zambians, in group A. Group B, for its part, will consist of Algeria, Congo-Brazzaville, Nigeria and Tanzania.

The first CAN U17 with 12 teams

The first two of each pool and the two best thirds of this first round will qualify for the quarter-finals of the tournament.

It will be the first Africa Cup of Nations under 17 with 12 teams (against 8 previously).

However, this edition will not qualify for the 2021 U17 World Cup, this edition having been canceled by FIFA because of the Covid-19.
