The erhu performer is a 76-year-old Qi Guanglu. The piece he played is called the ancient music of Yisala Tanjing, which was included in the second batch of Sichuan’s intangible cultural heritage list as early as 2009.

The ancient music of Yisala Talking on Scripture, developed from the music of Dongjing, has a history of more than 600 years.

Its musical instruments include Erhu, Jinghu, Sanxian, Mang gong, Suona, bamboo flute, etc., which are played by many people. They have not only the melodious and graceful court music, but also the minor charm of Jiangnan water town. The tune is simple, fresh and unique.

Ancient Yi Village

Ancient music has been passed down for hundreds of years

Located at the southernmost tip of Panzhihua, Yisala Village is a famous historical and cultural village in China. Historically, it was once an inn on the ancient ferry of Lalu on the Southern Silk Road.

After a long period of multi-ethnic communication and integration, a branch of the Yi nationality-Lipu, and a unique Lipu folk culture have been formed here.

Talking about ancient music is one of the folk customs.

Qi Guanglu is the representative inheritor of the ancient music. Although the old man is very old, his body is tough.

"Talking about ancient music, also called'dongyin', was developed from Dongjing music." Qi Guanglu said that at the very beginning, Dongjing music was a kind of court music, and it was later spread to the folks for ordinary people. Used.

As a matter of fact, the ancient music of Tantra circulated in Yisala is not pure music of Dongjing.

The ancestors of the Lipu people in Yisala migrated from Nanjing, Changsha and other places during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, and gradually merged with the local Yi people. During this period, a unique culture was formed. Talking about ancient music was also during that period. Singing gradually became popular and played in weddings and funerals.

Therefore, there are many differences between Yisala's talk about ancient music and Dongjing music.

In the music, there are not only the melodious and euphemistic court music, but also the minor charm of Jiangnan water village.

Qi Guanglu said that at least 5 people are required to play the ancient music. The more people, the better.

Cultural heritage

Discovered and sorted out more than 20 tracks

After graduating from junior high school, the music-loving Qi Guanglu began to learn to talk about ancient music with the elderly in the village.

After work and retirement, I have maintained this hobby.

In 1998, the Renhe District Cultural Center found Qi Guanglu and asked him to help unearth and sort out the ancient music and form a score.

Qi Guanglu said that since ancient times, the ancient music of Yusala Tanjing has been taught by master and apprentice, and there is no music score.

Therefore, he spent a lot of time organizing and compiling the repertoire into scores.

While sorting out, he also organized villagers to learn and play.

Nowadays, there are more than 20 repertoires such as "Chaoge", "Dieluoquan", "Five-character recitation", "Seven-character recitation", "Yueer" and "Ode to Osmanthus".

With the help of the cultural department of Renhe District, Yisala Village has also set up a band of about 10 people, which will play for tourists during tourism festivals and other activities.

The Central School of Pingdi Town will also integrate Tanjing Gu music into the teaching, and invite inheritors and cultural experts to the school for exchange and guidance.

The school’s Tanjing Ancient Music Club has also won many awards in various competitions.
