On Sunday, the new documentary series Allen v Farrow premiered on HBO.

The program is based on a custody dispute in 1992 between Woody Allen and Mia Farrow about the children Ronan, Dylan and Moses Farrow.

The series depicts, among other things, the daughter Dylan Farrow's abuse allegations against the well-known director.

The case led to a major scandal, but was never tried as a criminal case and Woody Allen has consistently denied the allegations.

In addition to an in-depth interview with Dylan Farrow, Mia Farrow also appears in the documentary series, together with people who claim to have witnessed the director's behavior.

"Full of lies"

Now Woody Allen and his wife Soon-Yi Previn accuse filmmakers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering of "not being interested in the truth," according to Variety.

The couple calls the documentary "a malicious attack, full of lies", according to a statement.

While Allen and Previn's spokesperson say that the couple only had days to respond to the accusations, producer Amy Herdy says that she tried to contact them for several years.

While the series is being watched by Allen and Previn, Ronan Farrow pays tribute to his sister.

Shortly after the premiere of the HBO series, the 33-year-old journalist posted a picture on Instagram with the text "Proud of my sister".
