At the end of the city council, which was held this Monday in Lyon, the elected representatives of the majority once again asked the government to reopen cultural places.

"Several studies and full-scale tests have shown that cultural spaces, if they respect health protocols, do not constitute sites for the spread of the virus," they support in a press release, adding that they want to organize a test concert in the spring at the Halle Tony Garnier.

“Emmanuel Macron wants the French to learn to live with the virus.

We must therefore gradually relaunch culture.

To do so, we have to test, experiment with alternatives to relaunch culture, ”continue the elected officials who detail several proposals for a gradual reopening of the premises.

These include organizing outdoor shows or bringing out museum collections to organize exhibitions in public places, "even in stores".

"No sanitary logic"

The city of Lyon has created an emergency cultural fund of nearly 4 million euros to help those involved in culture.

"But this support only makes sense with regard to a reopening of cultural places, and the resumption of their activities, following effective health protocols which are now identifiable", support the elected representatives of the majority.

And to conclude: "This is why we ask the Prime Minister, Jean Castex and the Government, to reconsider their incomprehensible decision which does not obey any sanitary logic, and to gradually reopen all the cultural places".
