"Cancer haunts me", confesses Denis Brogniart, who says he lost his young father.

"It reminded me of so many painful memories", continues Denis Brogniart, who was deeply marked by the disappearance of this candidate who became his friend.

"He was someone I was attached to, and when I found out, a few months after the show, that he was suffering from this cancer, I knew he had only a 10% chance to get by, ”explains the presenter, who is also a sponsor of the Foundation for Research Against Cancer (ARC).

"It lasted a few months, and it's true that I bonded like never before to an adventurer from Koh Lanta", he said, also addressing a thought to the parents of Bertrand-Kamal, Annick and Samir, to whom he symbolically offered the Koh Lanta totem pole during the show's finale.

“Two days before his death, when I saw him, before thinking of him, he thought of me,” says Denis Brogniart, emphasizing the altruism of his missing friend.

"This guy, from where he is, I think he's a star to those who knew him."
