A hairdresser in Bayreuth auctioned the first appointment after the lockdown for 422 euros for a good cause.

A 43-year-old craftsman and member of an aid organization that campaigns for children and to whom the money should also go, bought the date on March 1st on the eBay platform, said hairdresser Andreas Nuissl on Sunday.

In addition to the 422 euros, customers and friends have so far collected 1,310 euros as donations.

"I think that in the next three weeks, especially when we reopen on March 1st, there will be additional donations," said Nuissl.

The money is to be handed over to the Bayreuth Tafel and the Round Table 98 children's project in Bayreuth on March 15th.

Barbershops have been closed since the December 16 lockdown.

The ban was lifted on March 1 after a federal-state summit.
