Besides Sehando, is there another national treasure that is famous enough to be called'Mujibo' (無價之寶) that is only 170 years old?

National Treasure No. 180 (the Cultural Heritage Administration decided not to attach a lake to the national treasure in the future) Wandang Kim Jeong-hee's Sehando is exhibited at the National Museum of Korea after nearly 15 years, so I wanted to see it in person, so I was eager to see it on the weekend.




Since I knew that Sehando was not a big work, I was worried about how to decorate the exhibition with an admission fee of 5,000 won, but Sehando and Bui Seonran were actually Chusa exhibitions where you could feel full with just two works of Chusa.

I liked the title of the exhibition, dubbed'As Spring Comes After Midwinter', the poster, and the title font (which seems to have been produced separately for this exhibition).

Looking at the flow of recent exhibitions, it is striking to see how rich visuals are made with replicas using high-tech displays even if they are not genuine.

That was the case with the special exhibition of René Magritte held last year in'Hello Insa-dong'.

Of course, Sehando, which appeared at the National Museum of Korea, is genuine.



It was dark, so I entered the exhibition hall with the instructions to be careful.

Chusa went to exile, and after watching the black and white video work'Sehan's Time' on the theme of Jeju's nature depicting Sehando Island, he calmed his mind in monotone and reached Sehando Island.

Even if I try to feel the archety of a dream or a birthday, saying,'Is this the real Sehando I see?' I still seem to be walking in a dream to see the work that I have traveled from Jeju to Seoul to China and even to Japan.

The painting itself may be due to its very small and simple compared to its reputation.

What is the vitality of this work, which is viral beyond the times,

and only when we reach the long footsteps next to the painting, we meet the reason why Wandang painted Sehando.



According to the interpretation of the text, Chusa's disciple, who became the first owner of the painting by receiving Sehando from Kim Jeong-hee, said that even while Chusa was exiled in Jeju Island, it was difficult to obtain the latest books from China, which was an advanced country, and delivered it to the teacher.

As a disciple even to the so-called fallen teacher, he has done his best in human relations.

Drawing on this ideal, Chusa quotes Confucius and writes it in the introduction of Sehando.




"Confucius said,'After the weather gets colder, you know that pine and pine trees wither only late' (子曰 歲寒然後知松栢之後彫也). It's a confession, but the saints praised him specially after Saehan. You added nothing to me as before (exile) and nothing less than after (exiled)." ...(abbreviation)



Oh yes... There was such a background.

I admire the idealistic human state that nothing has changed before or after the teacher's exile, before or after.

There is nothing more and nothing less, and the eloquent demeanor of the teacher and disciple regardless of the circumstances and circumstances must have spread the munhyang (文香) and muk (墨香) of Sehando endlessly.

Anyone who has been in social life to some extent will know that this is not as easy as it sounds, even with a heart.



A similar thought came up when I looked at the unique obituary column (?) in a newspaper recently.

It was an article titled ``In honor of the head of the Bundang Jangnae Department, Jang Cheong-soon,'' published in the corner of the Hankyoreh newspaper, ``The footsteps of the vassal''.

It was a memorial from a local resident about 87-year-old Jang Cheong-soon, who died during hospitalization treatment after being infected by a patient who came to the hospital without knowing that he was infected with the corona after having been treated in Seongnam for 56 years.



According to her daughter, when living in a place where the hospital and the house were attached, Director Jang said, "Even at one o'clock in the morning, if a patient knocked on the door, the hospital door was opened," there were not many patients because it was an old and old hospital, but at 9 a.m. He said,'I treated it thoroughly and prescribed it without surplus.'

The author, who was a regular for 5 years, recalled:

'I said only necessary words and there was no excessive kindness'.



As the world's affairs get messy, my soul is different, but my crooked heart that can't endure the obvious kindness of phrases such as 0 and 1, which is kind only in voice, envy the attitude like Jang.

Also, I think it would be nice to live with an attitude like an ideal teacher.

Chusa puts a seal called Wandang on the front of Sehando's foot gate, and puts a four-letter seal of'Jangmusangmang' at the end.

I knew that a seal was to engrave only my own issue or name, but through this exhibition I learned that it is not.

Chusa loved the seal with various short sentences.

What is the beauty of the meaning of the four letters and the simplified ideograms.

'Jang Mu Sang Mang' (長毋相忘) "Let's not forget each other for a long time." The age difference of 17 years, the situation, and the friendship of the two who have survived so far beyond time and space, and the vitality of the artwork are already once again. I want to see.
