While the health situation in the Alpes-Maritimes is considered "particularly worrying", Europe 1 received Saturday evening Michel Carles, infectious disease specialist at the CHU of Nice.

He judges that a re-containment, mentioned earlier in the day by the Minister of Health, would be deleterious for the population.

INTERVIEW

While Olivier Véran spoke of a strengthening of the curfew or "of partial or total confinement" by the end of the weekend in the Alpes-Maritimes, Michel Carles, infectious disease specialist at the CHU de Nice said on Saturday on Europe 1 that such measures would represent "an admission of failure".

"We are thinking about these different options, but we can clearly see how the re-containment would be deleterious for fellow citizens", estimates the infectious disease specialist at the microphone of Europe 1. According to him, the measures put in place so far are imperfectly applied.

"We would first like these measures to be applied, for there to be gauges in all stores."

Indeed, according to Michel Carles, the absence of controls leads to concentrations of people in the same place.

"We would also like the controls of population movements entering and leaving the department to be a little better monitored" at airports and at station arrivals, he continues, assuring that only a strict application of the measures currently in force will make it possible to control the 'epidemic.
