Fans of Tim Burton and

The Addams Family

 have a date on Netflix.

The filmmaker will direct the series on Wednesday Addams for the streaming platform.

While no release date has been announced, the site has confirmed on Twitter that this is a “live-action” project.

“Burton will also make his TV directorial debut with this supernaturally mystery-infused investigation that follows Wednesday as a student at Nevermore Academy,” the statement also read.

The casting

While Tim Burton is directing and producing, Al Gough and Miles Millar will be the showrunners on the series, as well as executive producers, Variety adds.

The Tee & Charles Addams Foundation, founded by the widow of the creator of The Addams Family, is also among the producers.

It remains to be seen who will take the features of Wednesday Addams in this future Netflix series.

Christina Ricci launched her career in 1991 by playing the teenager in Barry Sonnenfeld's cult film.

Tim Burton fans, meanwhile, are having fun making their ideal cast.

Many would like Christina Ricci to reprise her role, and they are hopeful that Morticia and Gomez Addams will be played by Eva Green and Johnny Depp respectively.
