The sanctity of the sacred months

Mentioned the sacred months in the Holy Quran mention it, and out of respect for, in the words of Allah said: )an several months when Allah is twelve months in the Book of Allah on the creation of the heavens and the earth, of which four are sacred values that religion does not oppress therein Onevskm..(.

The noble verse warned the worshipers against wronging themselves in these sacred months, namely, Rajab, Dhu al-Qa'dah, Dhu al-Hijjah and Muharram, one individual and three narrations, and its prohibition was customary in the Jahiliyyah from the remnants of the Hanifiyyah, the religion of our father Ibrahim upon him and on our Prophet, prayers and peace. He says: O you who believe! Have the rituals of God nor month Aharam(, said Ezz would: )asolonc for the sacred month in which fighting less fighting in which a large ... (, ie a great sin and great, which is what greatness Sunnah, as in The sermon of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, in the farewell pilgrimage, in which the warning came to maximize the sanctity of the sacred months.

Islam is the greatest of the sacred months, so that the people can glorify it, so that they do not commit sins in it.

Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from the hadith of Ibn Umar, may God be pleased with them, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sermoned in Mina, so he said: “Do you know which day is this?” They said: God and His Messenger know best, so he said: “Because this is a forbidden day, do you know which country is this? »

They said, God and His Messenger know best. He said: "A country is forbidden. Do you know which month is this?"

They said: God and His Messenger know best. He said: “The sacred month, he said: God forbade your blood, your wealth, and your honor as the sanctity of your day, this month in your country, in this country.” And a narration from the hadith of Abu Bakr - Nafaa Ibn Al-Harith - may God be pleased with him that The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Time has turned like its appearance on the day God created the heavens and the earth. The year is twelve months, of which there are four sanctuaries, three successions: Dhu al-Qi’dah, Dhu al-Hijjah and Muharram, and Rajab Damar, which is between Jamadi and Sha'ban.”

All this indicates the veneration of the sacred months, and that Islam did not increase them except by veneration, and that “injustice during the sacred months is the greatest sin and a burden of injustice in all others, even if in any case the injustice is great, but God magnifies what He wills”, as Al-Tabari narrated in His interpretation on the authority of Qatada al-Sadousi, may God Almighty have mercy on him, the disciple of Anas bin Malik, may God be pleased with him.

He also said: God chose Safaya from his creation.

He chose from the angels messengers, and from the people the messengers, and chose from the words he mentioned, and from the earth he chose the mosques, chose the months of Ramadan and the sacred months, and chose some of the days on Friday, and chose the nights of the Night of Power, so they magnify what God has glorified. People of understanding and people of reason ».

What is important about this is that Islam is the greatest of the sacred months, so that the servants honor them so that they do not fall into sins in them, and that is why Al-Shafi’i and Ahmad went on to intensify the blood money for wrongful killing in the sacred months, such as its intensification in the Haram.

As for the virtue of righteous deeds in it, there is a lot of talk among the scholars, between crying out and forbidding, because the predecessors differed in that.

It was narrated that some of the forefathers used to fast all of the sacred months, including Ibn Umar, Al-Hasan Al-Basri, and Abu Ishaq Al-Subai'i, and Al-Thawri said: The sacred months are more desirable for me to fast during them.

On the authority of Ibn Abbas: He disliked fasting Rajab entirely, and on the authority of Ibn Omar and Ibn Abbas that they used to think that he should break his fast for days, and Anas and Saeed bin Jubair also hated it, and he disliked the fasting of Rajab as a whole, Yahya bin Saeed Al-Ansari, and Imam Ahmad.

He said: He breaks the fast for a day or two, and he narrated it on the authority of Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas, and Al-Shafi’i said in the old: I hate for a man to fast for a month that he completes as he completes Ramadan, and he cited the hadith of Aisha: “I never saw the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, completed a month but Ramadan. He said: Likewise, one day among the days, and he said: Rather, I hated him for an ignorant man not to be consoled, so he thinks that it is a duty, and if he does, then it is good. ”As mentioned all this by Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali in Latif al-Maarif, and he said: The month of Rajab is the key to the most famous of goodness and blessing. Al-Balkhi: The month of Rajab is the month of sowing, Shaban is the month of irrigation for sowing, and Ramadan is the month of planting harvest ... etc.

God bless us in Rajab and Sha'ban, and we reached Ramadan, with your pardon and kindness, O Rahman.
