Julien Clerc was Thursday the guest of "It feels good" for his new album "Terrien".

The singer also looks back on several of the successes that made him a big name in French song.

He notably reveals the story of "Women, I love you", a song that he did not want to sing at first.

INTERVIEW

When his lyricist Jean-Loup Dabadie offers him the text, Julien Clerc judges it "too frontal".

"I'm quite modest and I never said 'I love you' in songs," recalls the singer.

"And there, all of a sudden. Jean-Loup Dabadie made me sing 'Women, I love you'. I thought it was too much."

"The song had its own story, almost independent of me"

Not to mention that his companion at the time only moderately appreciates this declaration of love made to all women.

"I had played the song on the piano to Miou-Miou. She looked at me, and after a short silence, she replied 'It's a woman, I love you'", relates today, smiling Julien Clerc.

The singer finally leaves to record a new album in London, thinking not to record this title.

But the producer, however English and non-French speaking, protested.

"But are you crazy or what? We will record it right away!", He insists to the singer.

An ad for stamps to engrave the legend

"Over the years, the song has had its own story, almost independent of me. It has been used in karaoke, etc.", observes Julien Clerc.

An independent life that leads the song to appearing in an advertisement for a brand of menstrual protectors.

"But it's a very beautiful film directed by Peter Lindberg!", Specifies the artist.

"When the brand came to find me, I asked to see the film first."

After viewing, Julien Clerc will accept, building a little more, with this cult advertisement, the legend of his song.
