While Booba is releasing a new album, singer Chantal Goya tells Europe 1 how the famous rapper asked her for permission to be inspired by one of his songs to choose his stage name.

Since then, the two artists have only met once, during a television show.

INTERVIEW

One of the biggest stars of French rap is back.

At 44 years old, Booba returns with a new album, the 10th of his prolific career.

Entitled

Ultra

, the project will be available for pre-order and in a limited edition at 6 p.m., before a digital release on March 5, announces the artist on his Twitter account.

A record that singer Chantal Goya will listen to, invited Thursday from Europe 1, and who returned to the unusual link between her and the rapper.

At the start of his career, the "Duke" had indeed asked him for permission to be inspired by one of his songs for his artist name.

Because Booba was, among other things, inspired by the song

Bouba

, in which Chantal Goya tells the adventures of a little bear cub.

And one day, the one who is now the boss of French rap picked up his phone to probe the entourage of the interpreter of

Pandi panda

.

"It happened in a very direct way," recalls the latter.

"He had asked through the president of Universal, Pascal Nègre".

Contacted by the one who was then the boss of the famous record company, Chantal Goya accepts.

"I thought it was a good idea. Nothing surprises me."

"He told me 'respect'"

If she admits not "to be very aware of everything", Chantal Goya notes that Booba "made his career".

And the two artists ended up meeting one day, during a television show.

“I was the surprise for him,” says Chantal Goya.

"He told me something that moved me a lot and made me very happy, he told me 'respect for you and all that you have done'".

“In my car,” she said.

"I listen to everything".
