With a record of 114 Covid-19 patients in shifts this Thursday evening, or 7 more than Wednesday, the epidemic has never been so alarming in the Alpes-Maritimes.

Hospital services are overheating, incidence rates are at their highest and the Minister of Health, who considers the "very worrying situation", is expected in Nice on Saturday.

If the number of conventional hospitalizations is down slightly (-5.7% in one week), in the intensive care units of the Côte d'Azur, the initial capacity is greatly exceeded (131%) and 94.5% beds (including those specially freed) are occupied, according to figures from the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Paca published on Thursday.

So decisions have been taken.

"At least six additional beds in sheaves and oxygen therapy" and more "according to needs" will "be opened", announces at

Romain Alexandre, the departmental delegate of the ARS.

The situation is particularly tense in Nice where the incidence rate, the number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants, greatly exceeds 500, well beyond the rest of France.
