Visits from people cared for at the Valenciennes hospital had barely resumed after the restrictions at the end of 2020. But that did not last very long.

While the coronavirus is actively circulating again in the Nord department, the establishment has made a radical decision.

In a press release published this Wednesday evening, the management let it be known that it was once again implementing a ban on visits: "This measure is intended to protect the most fragile patients and to contain the spread of Covid-19" , is it specified.

Possible exemptions in certain cases

If the rule remains prohibition, there are however exemptions "in certain cases and subject to medical authorization".

This concerns people at the end of life or in palliative care.

In other services - EHPAD, follow-up and rehabilitation care, maternity, pediatrics and neonatology - restrictive rules must be complied with.

In the maternity ward, only the father is authorized.

In pediatrics, only one parent at a time.

In the medico-social service, visits are limited to one or two people for 45 minutes, by appointment and in a dedicated place.

These restrictions come into force on Thursday and for a period that has not been specified.

"It is by limiting the circulation of the virus that the number of people affected will decrease", insists the management of the hospital.
