A few days after sending the government a recommendation in favor of "compulsory licenses" to produce anti-Covid vaccines, the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (Cese) launched an online consultation on Wednesday on the "vaccine passport" .

“What do you think of the vaccination passport?

»: This is the question asked on the site participez.lecese.fr until March 7.

In response to this proposal for a pass "to access places that are closed today (restaurants, cinemas, stadiums, museums)", five choices are offered (from "very unfavorable" to "very favorable"), as well as 'an "optional" comment field.

"Side effects are the main concern"

This consultation follows a first questionnaire closed on Monday and the first results of which show that "side effects are the main cause for concern", said Stéphanie Goujon, rapporteur of the Cese "vaccination" commission, during a press conference.

This body has already sent two recommendations to the government, added its president Marie-Andrée Blanc.

The first advised from the end of January to create a "reception telephone platform" and a "single website" to inform the population about the vaccination campaign.

The second, adopted last week, suggests to the executive to "apply for manufacturing licenses for vaccines" already authorized and "to consider the use of compulsory licensing," she said.

"Recommendation does not mean decision, political power retains all its freedom"

Other debates are scheduled for Thursday on "accessibility to vaccines, places of vaccination, logistics, communication, city medicine and territories", with a view to the presentation of a progress report on February 23 , no doubt accompanied by new recommendations.

This work will be "fed by the citizen collective" installed in mid-January, and whose 35 members will meet for a new session from Thursday.

But nothing guarantees their concrete implementation, as recalled by Prof. Alain Fischer, president of the Vaccine Strategy Steering Committee: “Recommendation does not mean decision, political power retains all its freedom.
