  It is understood that the third-phase expansion project of Xi’an Xianyang International Airport is currently the largest civil aviation project in Northwest China, which is of great significance to the construction of Xi’an International Aviation Hub in Shaanxi Province.

Within the scope of the construction project, more than 4,600 ancient cultural relics of various types were discovered through exploration, including more than 3,500 ancient tombs of various periods.

In 2011, during the construction of Xi'an Metro Line 2 in Dongsanyaobao Village, 6 ancient tombs were discovered and more than 40 cultural relics were unearthed.

  According to statistics, in 2020, Shaanxi Province will carry out a total of 179 archaeological projects of various types, completing archaeological surveys of approximately 609 square kilometers, archaeological exploration of approximately 11.8 million square meters, excavation of 3,956 ancient tombs and ancient ruins of 105,800 square meters.
