“On the avalanche-prone areas of Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky, Smirnykhovsky, Uglegorsky, Makarovsky, Tomarinsky, Kholmsky, Dolinsky, Anivsky, Nevelsky, Korsakovsky districts, as well as in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on February 18, the risk of snow masses is predicted,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
It is noted that there is no avalanche hazard in the rest of Sakhalin, but single avalanches are possible.
Earlier, a storm warning was announced in Kamchatka due to the increased danger of avalanches.
