Customers of an Auchan supermarket in Val-de-Reuil (Eure) can go through a disinfection tunnel against Covid-19 before accessing the shelves of the store since January 21, reports France Bleu Normandie.

It is the city that has set up this device to fight against the virus and for those who wish it.

"It makes it possible to reassure, secure and above all to keep good reflexes", noted Fadilla Benamara, the deputy mayor in charge of urban renewal and relations with traders.

It is a "good means of prevention", added the store manager.

A cost of 1.500 € per month

The temperature of customers or employees is taken via their hand or forehead.

They can then pass through the tunnel which works with ultrasound and ultraviolet light.

A hydrochloride solution in the form of painless water vapor is sprayed on them.

It does not damage clothes, handbags or phones, says local radio.

Everything happens in seconds.

The cartridges for this solution are taken care of by the town hall of Val-de-Reuil.

The cost is estimated at 1,500 € per month.

The city has put in place a whole bunch of measures to fight Covid-19: distribution of masks, poster campaign, adapted signage but also thermal cameras at the entrance to public buildings.

A tunnel of this type should also be installed within two weeks at the station.

The approximately 1,500 daily travelers can be disinfected there.
