The Pride of the Generations Championship for Falconry "Al Talwah", organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, in Al Ruwayyah in Dubai, was decorated with the participation of brothers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, within the championship that witnesses allocating 12 tracks for falconers from the countries of cooperation.

The Deputy Director of the Championships Department at the Center, Rashid Al Khasouni, welcomed the brothers from the State of Qatar for their presence on the Fazza Falconry Championships this season.

He saluted the participating falconers from the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

He said: “We are pleased with the presence of the Qatari brothers this season, so that the sport of falconry associated with the heritage of the region as a whole is crowned with the bonds of love between the countries of the region on the land of the Emirates, and this is what makes us keen to hold Fazaa championships for falconry - the categories of the Gulf every year, and strive to organize them fully. He directed, despite the circumstances imposed by the Corona pandemic to postpone the last rounds of the championship, we worked hard to establish it in the Generational Pride Championship, in order to complete the scene of unity among the countries of the Cooperation Council, as they compete in light of this sport loved by all on the land of peace and coexistence in the UAE.

The first day witnessed strong competition, and in the results of the rounds, the Saudi Falah bin Abdullah Al-Dossari won first place in the pure gear, the president’s chick with the bird “Mutreb”, followed by the Bahrain team with the bird “Okay”, then the Saudi Bargash bin Muhammad Al-Mansouri in the bird “Al-Zanati”.

Kuwaiti Saad Allam Al-Kandari won the Pure Gear Gurnas, the president, in Al-Tayer "Dasman", followed by Saudi Arabia, Barghash bin Muhammad Al-Mansouri, in the second and third places, with the bird "Shaman" and the bird "Al-Kulili".

Kuwaiti Abdul Rahman Ahmed Al-Suwaidi won the President’s Qarmousha run with the bird, followed by Oman’s Salem bin Hamid al-Zar’i with the bird “008”, and the Bahrain team with the bird “Mazoon”.

Qatari Ahmed Ali Al-Sulaiti took the lead of Qarmousha Jarnas, the president, with the bird "Dima", followed by the Saudi Amin bin Abdullah Al-Mallah with the bird "Zulfi", and the third, the Qatari Abdullah Saeed Al-Marri with the bird, "Tarif".

Qatari Muhammad Yusef Al-Mannai won first place in a free race, the president’s spawn in al-Tayer “Aramum”, followed by his compatriot Muhammad Ali al-Asiri in al-Tayer (44), and thirdly, Kuwaiti Fawaz Falah al-Nun in al-Tair (Safi 2).

Qatari Muhammad Madi Al-Hajri also won a free run, Jernas, the president, with the bird “Dharb”, followed by the Saudi Bargash bin Muhammad Al-Mansouri with the bird “Nashmi”, and the third, Hamid bin Muhammad Al-Mansouri, with the bird “Dahham”.

Converging levels

Qatar falconers registered their attendance at the event with a good number and strong levels, and Khalifa Nasser Al-Maeeni considered that everyone feels the warm atmosphere among the participants, and seeks to achieve the best crisis, and at the same time live the atmosphere of this meeting.

He said, "We participate from Qatar with a good number of falcons, up to about 60 or 70 birds, with the influx of about 30 falconers, and we see cooperation from everyone."

For his part, his compatriot Mubarak Al-Hajri said: "The procedures were facilitated, as we noticed the keenness of the organizing committee to help falconers, and we live with our brothers the beautiful atmosphere of heroism."

Qatari Muhammad Yusef Al-Mannai also considered that “achieving advanced positions in the championship came to the efforts he made to provide the best levels and prepare the strongest birds, and at the same time to help the organizing committee for falconers amid the challenges of the (Corona) pandemic.”

He added that "the organizing committee offered a helping hand to overcome the obstacles, which made the meeting on the ground of the Fazza championships for falconry tantamount to a fraternal heritage festival."

A remarkable presence

For his part, Kuwaiti Fawaz Falah Al-Nun affirmed his keenness to participate constantly in the championship competitions, adding: “For many years I have been here annually, and some falconers from my country also accompany me, and everyone feels comfortable and the methods of dealing with the precautionary measures, and facilitating entry with birds into the country.”

He continued: "The competition is intense in this version, the levels are strong, and most importantly, this beautiful meeting in a very wonderful atmosphere."

Omani Hazza Sultan Al-Zurbakhi, who is considered one of the youngest falconers (18 years), was prominent.

He explained, "This is the first participation this year, and I thank everyone who supported me and those who taught me falconry, Abdul Wahab Al-Hajri, as I trained in this kind of heritage sport from a young age and grew up with it."

Saudi presence

As usual, the Saudi presence was prominent in these tournaments.

Abdullah Al-Mutairi stressed that "many falconers in the Kingdom are keen to attend this event, due to the importance of the Fazza falconry championships for Gulf Arabs in general."

He continued, "I came to participate with my father from the Eastern Province, and all matters were easy despite the precautionary measures."

For his part, Saudi Mubarak Al-Buanain expressed his pride in his participation for many years in this tournament, adding: "We thank everyone who supported us to attend, participate and compete here. This tournament is wonderful in all its details."

Bahrain is on the date

As is always the case, falconers from Bahrain attended the tournament, among them falconers Faisal Al-Ajami.

He said, "Things are good in these tournaments since their inception. All are brothers, and I feel that I am in my second country here, and I am not a stranger at all, as I attended the best falcons in order to score the best times and try to climb on the podium."
