The number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients was down on Monday, as well as that of patients in intensive care, but new hospitalizations were up, according to figures released on Tuesday by health authorities.

Hospitals received 26,195 patients with Covid-19, of which 1,857 arrived in the past 24 hours.

As of Monday, they were 26,478, including 1,431 new hospitalizations.

Nearly 83,000 dead since the start of the coronavirus epidemic

The resuscitation services, which receive the most serious cases, counted 3,338 Covid patients, including 323 who arrived since the day before.

Monday, they were 3,371 in intensive care (including 306 entries).

The figure for new contaminations was not immediately available.

The total death toll since the start of the epidemic has risen to 82,812, including 58,578 in hospital (+352 over the last 24 hours) and 24,234 in nursing homes and other medico-social establishments.

As of February 16, 3,162,635 vaccine injections had been carried out, of which 815,547 involved a 2nd dose, since the start of the vaccination campaign, at the very end of December.
