Reigning English champion, Liverpool have almost done away with their crown.

The two Manchester clubs are already well ahead, and the latest poor performances have deprived them of almost all their hopes.

The Champions League is the last major goal for Jürgen Klopp's men this season.

And the reunion with the C1 went well this Tuesday for the Reds, six times European champions.

Traveling to Budapest, Hungary, and not to Germany due to health restrictions linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, visitors waited until the second period to make a difference.

Salah-Mané put Liverpool back in the right direction

Mohamed Salah first intercepted a back pass from Marcel Sabitzer before accelerating and going to open the scoring (53rd).

The Egyptian confirmed the domination of his own and scored his 24th goal in all competitions this season.

Then, it was the Senegalese Sadio Mané who took advantage of a mistake by Nordi Mukiele to make the break (58th).

At this level, such mistakes are paid for in cash.

Before the return match scheduled at Anfield on March 10, FC Liverpool has achieved an excellent operation thanks to its two African arrows.

This victory acquired away from home with two goals behind and a clean sheet is a definite advantage.

Leipzig will need an exploit to turn the tide.
